Graduate Career Opportunities with AECOM
AECOM is a global company with a local presence. We find smarter solutions to some of the world’s most challenging projects by providing buildings, design, environment, water, mining, planning, cost consultancy, energy and transportation services. In Australia and New Zealand, we are 5,000 people in more than 20 offices.
Along with a competitive salary, AECOM connects you to technical and peer networks around the world, as well as provide tailored professional development programs, health and well being initiatives, social events and clubs, corporatediscounts, plusmuchmore. There is no one way to describe our team. We are engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, environmental specialists, economists, scientists, consultants, cost managers, construction managers, project managers and program managers, to name only a few.
At AECOM, we take your career development seriously and our people are chosen for their talent, their insight and their capacity to innovate. We employ some of the most interesting, passionate and brightest people in the industry -- and we're looking for more. Join a movement of engineers, planners, environmentalists, scientists, analysts, deep-sea divers, mountain bikers, arctic explorers, historians, artists, musicians, and astronomers, all of whom are united by one purpose: to create, enhance and sustain the world's built, natural and social environments.
AECOM's diverse project portfolio ranges from urban regeneration to planning new cities, from partnering with national governments to preserving fragile landscapes and finding ways to provide dependable water supplies. Every day, you’ll be asked to put the skills you learned, while studying, into action. Through hands-on involvement in demanding projects, you’ll have a genuine opportunity to make a positive difference -- and work with us to begin solving tomorrow's problems today.
In Australia and New Zealand, creating the best opportunities for our graduates begins with our two-day induction program, which is held in a different location every year with both travel and accommodation provided. This fun development event gives you the chance to network with other graduates, speak with our Chief Executive and create peer networks that stretch across Australia and New Zealand; and that’s just the start.
Our Growing Professional Skills (GPS) graduate program is designed to help you bridge the gap between formal education and the workplace. The GPS program is spread across three years and comprises a range of core competencies and recommended training.
As part of the program, we work with you to develop a plan, outlining your goals and required actions, and provide training that will be reviewed every six months.
Along with local site visits, technical seminars, internal and external training, and social and educational industry events, AECOM connects you with local and global teams to source knowledge and experience, which creates an invaluable network that helps you learn, grow, and develop your professional skills.
As an added incentive, your involvement in the GPS program is fully endorsed for those seeking professional accreditation. If you decide to do additional study, we will help you examine your options and identify particular fields of specialisation to support your career.
