Tidewater – Offshore Marine Industry Jobs

Tidewater provide a variety of marine services globally, including the transportation of crews and supplies, towing and anchoring mobile rigs, assisting offshore construction and performing and three-dimensional seismic exploration.

Started in 1955 by ten investors who built the Ebb Tide, the first oil and gas service vessel, they quickly expanded to international operations by 1958. By 1966, their fleet of vessels had expanded to more than 200 working the United States, South America, Central America and West Africa.

A number of acquisitions followed in the 1970’s, significantly expanding their fleet, and signalling their first foray into oil production off the coast of Indonesia.

By 1998, their fleet had increased to more than 700 vessels and their revenue topped the $1b mark for the first time, enabling them to embark on an ambitious $700m new construction program, positioning their fleet amongst the top competitors in the deepwater market.

Tidewater received the prestigious Safety in Seas Award from the National Ocean Industries Association in 2004, in recognition of an outstanding safety performance that has continued.
