GE's Australian Business

GE Australia and New Zealand employs around 6,100 people and operates through four business segments servicing an array of diverse markets and customers.

Technology Infrastructure includes Healthcare, Aviation, Enterprise Solutions and Transportation. Major customers of GE Aviation include Qantas, Air New Zealand and Virgin Blue. There’s a 70% chance that your next Qantas jet flight will be powered by GE engine. Our Healthcare business employs 430 people in A&NZ and our anaesthetic equipment is used in 80% of all surgeries.

Energy Infrastructure, including Water & Process Technologies, Energy and Oil & Gas employ 514 people across Australia and New Zealand. GE Water & Process Technologies offer water treatment systems that purify 70 million litres of wastewater per day for safe discharge in the Great Barrier Reef. Our Energy business is providing systems to employ “smart grid” technology for more efficient transmission and distribution.

Capital is the largest GE business in Australia & New Zealand, employing around 4,600 people. It responsibly offers a range of consumer finance products to 3.1 million customers, and creates finance solutions for businesses that help them reach their full potential.

NBC Universal is GE’s media arm and operates through CNBC, which broadcasts relevant business news 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as well as the marketing and distribution of Universal release films and DVDs.
