Company Overview

Crosslands Resources Ltd is one of the largest exporters of iron ore from Western Australia’s emerging mid-west region. Crosslands owns and operates the Jack Hills iron ore mine, located 380 kilometres north-east of Geraldton. The company is one of the largest tenement holders in the region, and an integral part of the local community.

Jack Hills boasts a significant high grade iron ore resource suitable for low cost open pit mining. Crosslands currently produces and ships approximately 2 million tonnes of high grade lump ore and fines a year.

Iron ore is mined, crushed and screened at the Jack Hills site, then transported, via Cue, to the Port of Geraldton where it is loaded and shipped to customers primarily in China and Korea.

Expansion

In December 2009, after an extensive drilling program, Crosslands reported the completion of a new resource estimate for its Jack Hills mine mobbing it from a small scale direct shipping ore project to a long life, high quantity magnetite-hematite project.

The resource is estimated to be triple its previous published size and has the potential to expand further with drilling programs still in progress on site.

The Jack Hills Miner Resource estimate is made up of Banded Iron Formation (BIF) previously referred to as BFO and Massive Iron Mineralisation (MIM) which included Direct Shipping Ore (MIM-DSO) and potential Jig feed or BFO (MIM-JIG). Click here for further details and the full JORC announcement.

Crosslands already employs more than 330 people and our long-term aim is to further increase our workforce.

While the main demand for our iron ore is from Asia, Crosslands is a local company. We are dedicated to supporting the mid-west and we are committed to employing locally as well as contributing to many local community initiatives.
