While site activity for Macmahon Leighton Joint Venture's (MLJV) RGP5 Rail Project increases daily, so too does the recruitment and training opportunities for local Indigenous workers on the project.

CiticPacific Mining Project Update

Our regular readers will know we've been following the progress of INPEX's Ichthys Project since we launched.  Recently, we blogged about the contract for the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) of its liquefied natural gas plant at Blaydin Point in Darwin, Australia being awarded to the JKC Joint Venture, comprising JGC Corporation, KBR and Chiyoda Corporation.

Gladstone Steel Project - "Significant"

Boulder Steel Limited were pleased to announce at the beginning of April, that the Queensland Government has declared their "Gladstone Steel Project" to be a "Significant Project" for which an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required.

It's important to note, that a "Significant" project for which an EIS is required, does not mean approval of the project, but there are benefits of a streamlined approval process across the whole of government along with the beginning of the rigorous environmental impact assessment.
