Last week, Woodside verbally agreed the terms of a Heads of Agreement between the State of Western Australia and the Kimberley Land Council on behalf of Traditional Owners, related to the establishment of a LNG Precinct in the James Price Point area, north of Broome, intended to be a $185 billion, 30-year Kimberley gas project.
Whilst this project is some way off from commencing - possibly 2011 - Woodside expects 6000 fly-in fly-out jobs will be created during the five-year construction phase, alongside hundreds of positions for local indigenous groups.
