Wood Group wins Wheatstone works contract

The Wood Group has been selected by Chevron Global Upstream and Gas to provide ready-for-start-up operations support services for the Wheatstone LNG Development, located offshore Western Australia.  Work will be performed by ODL, Wood Group’s consultancy company specialising in operations and maintenance.

ODL’s consultancy services will cover LNG plant operations, maintenance and instrumentation/ electrical systems.  The scope of work includes providing operations and maintenance technical expertise to assist Chevron in developing front-end engineering design and project execution planning; reviewing piping and instrument diagrams and process-related drawings and process-related drawings to aid in resolving potential conflicts; and participating in hazardous operations studies and other process safety management reviews.

About Wheatstone

The Wheatstone LNG facility will be located on the northwest coast of Australia. It will have an initial capacity of at least one 5 million-ton-per-annum LNG production train, with expansion capacity for additional production trains. The facility will also provide commercial domestic gas to the local market.
