In August, Transfield Services were awarded a three year maintenance and shutdown contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore at its Mt Whaleback operation in Newman, Western Australia.
The contract expands on their ten year relationship with BHP Billiton that covers work in their nickel, coal and now iron ore productions around Australia. Under the contract, Transfield Services will provide mechanical and electrical maintenance and planned shutdown services.
The next shutdown is 5 November for about 5-6 days. They are seeking:
• RIGGERS
• ELECTRICIANS
• BOILERMAKERS
Transfield Services subsidiary, Broadspectrum has also been successful in winning the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal corrosion maintenance contract for the 3.8km coal conveyor system.
Located at the Port of Hay Point, 38km south of Mackay in Queensland, the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal was established in 1983 by the Queensland Government as a common User coal export facility. The terminal is linked to the Bowen Basin Coalfields by the electrified Goonyella rail system operated by QR (you’ll see our other blogs on job opportunities with QR as a result of this ongoing infrastructure expansion) and has recently undergone a significant expansion.
Working a week day roster on a long term contract, Transfield Services are now seeking:
• TRADE ASSISTANTS
• BOILERMAKERS
• RIGGERS
They also have an extensive list of other opportunities on offer. Click here to view and apply:
