Toro Energy is a company that formed around three and a half years ago as a uranium exploration group. They formed with the express aim of acquiring resource projects and taking them through development and into production. With future demand for uranium and the demand for a cleaner energy supply, Toro Energy are confident of its strategy to supply uranium to the market from 2012/2013 onwards.
The Wiluna Project is their flagship project, a historic resource, found in the 70’s and 80’s and located 750 km northeast of Perth. Toro announced in late October that they have submitted the environmental framework application for this project to the Western Australian and Federal Governments. The framework will allow both governments to determine the form of environmental assessment that will apply to the development of the tenement.
The company has targeted a production start-up in early-2013.
According to Toro managing director Greg Hall, the company is well advanced in it’s planning, having recently completed resource upgrade and optimisation study for the project. “We have also commenced work on a bankable feasibility study (BFS) to confirm the detailed design of the project and preferred treatment process,” he said.
“Key project personnel are in place and further recruitment is underway.” Toro Energy has only one vacancy listed. Details can be found in “Employment” a drop down menu option under “Company” on their Home Page. (or click on this link http://www.toroenergy.com.au/employment.html )
