Toowoomba Pipeline Project Safety Record Sees Money Flow to Local Charities

Local charities in the Toowoomba and Esk communities have been the main beneficiaries of the Toowoomba Pipeline project’s excellent safety record. To ensure that safety was not only the number one priority but was ingrained in the workforce a monthly award was set up by the Toowoomba Pipeline Alliance (consisting of Clough, Diversifi ed and Maunsell AECOM) to recognise the most safety conscious members of the workforce. The Golden Pipe Award gave the winning work crew the opportunity to nominate a charity of their choice to receive a $500 donation from the project.

With three nominations, The Esk Hospital Auxiliary was the main beneficiary receiving $1500, while the following charities each received a cheque for $500:

  • Australian Rescue and Rehabilitation of Wildlife Association (ARROW)
  • Aloaka Lodge Community Care
  • SES ESK
  • Blue Care
  • Cancer Council
  • Montrose Society for Crippled Children
  • Royal Children’s Hospital

A presentation of the cheques was made at the Toowoomba Pipeline community thank you day in November.
