Sino Iron Project Update

 Well, it’s been a while since we last posted about our HUGE Sino Iron Project and as you will see from the pictures posted, the landscape has changed somewhat since our last blog.

We can proudly announce that the first of our combined cycle gas turbines in our Power Station has started to be commissioned and was fired up for the first time last month with great success.  The Power Station continues to “power” along and great progress has been made in that area.

The Concentrator continues to develop daily and we now have the structure for the overland conveyor system in place from the in-pit crushing circuit to the coarse ore stockpile facility which will feed each of the 6 lines in the concentrator.  Our first 2 production lines have their AG and Ball Mills on their foundations.  The Thickener Tanks are being put into place with the associated processing equipment ramping up concurrently.

Our Mining department has been ticking along nicely with the major milestone of 100 million tonnes of material moved being reached last month.  This is a significant milestone for everyone concerned in the department as major development continues in what will be one of the biggest open pits in Australia.

The Port area has developed significantly over the past few months.  The Barge Loader which will transfer product onto our fleet of sea going vessels has been put into place while the associated stockpiling infrastructure has also been erected and is in readiness to receive product.                                                                      Our 51 gigalitre Desalination Plant has all of its modules now in place and isn’t far away from being operational.
