QGC has awarded Queensland pipeline construction company Murphy Pipe and Civil a $250m contract to install its upstream network of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines.
The project is expected to take approximately two years to complete and will create employment opportunities for pipeline specialists and trades.
The contract award follows on from the award of two other multi-million dollar steel and plastic pipeline contracts earlier this month.
The company is currently constructing water pipelines for the mining industry in Moranbah and installing a solar component to a power station in Kogan.
Murphy Pipe and Civil has a focus on innovative infrastructure solutions and their successful foray into the coal seam gas sector has seen the introduction of their new Spiderploughs and Fast Fusion welding technology to Australia.
