UGL Resources has thrown its weight behind the ‘Purple Boot Brigade’ which is raising money for breast cancer education and support initiatives around the country.
Every time another pair of purple boots is ordered by our employees, distributor Steel Blue adds a further $20 to the kitty.
HR General Manager Margaret Nielsen says the purple boots are already being worn by site workers at Woodside’s Pluto LNG project.
“The boots cost exactly the same as the traditional brown or black boots UGL Resources currently supplies to site workers,” explains Margaret.
“By ticking ‘purple’ on our PPE order form, our people are doing their bit for breast cancer support and education. It’s that easy.”
The Purple Boot Brigade began in Western Australia, but it has now been transformed into a national fundraising opportunity, with all proceeds being returned to local breast cancer initiatives. This means the money is spent where it is raised.
Since its inception the Purple Boot Brigade has raised more than $400,000.
