A diversified business offering services including civil and mining contracting, machinery sales and rental, heavy equipment tyre sales, repairs and fabrication, NRW has recently been awarded major work packages with BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth Project – a $200 million contract to duplicate the southern section of the line in partnership with John Holland and Laing O'Rourke Australia – together with a $350m contract for CiticPacific’s Sino Iron magnetite development at Cape Preston.
Whilst they’ve recently run a recruitment campaign (see recent blogs) to build employee numbers, they yesterday announced that Fortescue Metals has authorised them to recommence construction of their Cloudbreak-Christmas Creek rail spur in the Pilbara. The contract is valued at around $45m.
The contract was suspended in November 2008 due to construction at site being deferred.
