 Nickel West Kwinana commenced operation in 1970 and celebrated 40 years in 2010.  Our staff tenure at the refinery is proof that we are a great place to work.  One of our longest serving employees has just celebrated 41 years with Nickel West Kwinana! 

Nickel West Kwinana is responsible for converting nickel matte from our Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter into premium grade nickel briquettes and nickel powder.  The refinery use an ammonia-leach process and has the capacity to generate 65,000 tonnes per annum of nickel metal, in a safety focused environment. 

Nickel West Kwinana has been recognised for its safety culture which driven by strong leadership, safe behaviours, accountability and governance.
