The mine pit landscape at our Sino Iron Ore Project is changing fast with four huge openings being dug out to house our in-pit crushers.
Each slot will be excavated to a depth of 21 metres with masses of reinforcement material applied to the pit walls to support the 1,400 tonne steel crushers.
There will be more than 2,500 24-metre bolts used to install and layers of grout and shotcrete used.
Many companies are working on the project including construction management by SNC-Lavalin, excavation by CMC, drill & blast and wall reinforcement by ROCK Engineering, design and technical support by Coffey and surveying by Asphar.
