MACA – opportunities for Maintenance Disciplines

Mining & Civil Australia (MACA) is a privately owned and operated Western Australian company employing 200 people and providing contract mining, civil earthworks, crushing and screening and material haulage solutions.

They’ve recently won a number of work contracts including:

Altas Iron: Following on from the award of a short term crushing and screening project at Pardoo, MACA was awarded a four year contract by Atlas Iron ltd in October to crush and screen Iron ore at their Pardoo Project.

Duketon Project: civil infrastructure works as part of the project located 140km north of Laverton, and following on from the civil works. Awarded in August.

Spotted Quoll: In August, MACA commenced infrastructure works as part of the mining contract at Western Areas’ Spotted Quoll open pit nickel operation. The project is located south of Western Areas Flying Fox underground nickel mine 450 km East of Perth.

Laverton Gold Project: MACA commenced mining as part of the mining contract for this Project owned by Crescent Gold. The project consists of completion of a previously mined pit & several greenfields pits surrounding Laverton.

As a result, they now have opportunities for the following:

• HD MECHANICAL FITTERS
• SERVICEMEN
• WORKSHOP SUPERVISORS

Supervisor and HD Fitters must be trade qualified and demonstrate the following:

• Experience with Komatsu and/or CAT heavy earth-moving equipment;
• Commitment to safety first;
• Able to work in remote locations as required;
• Excellent communication and organisational skills;
• Able to work in a team environment;
• Able to supervise and teach apprentices as required;
• FIFO Perth on 2:1 roster.

Reporting to the Area Maintenance Supervisor, the Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of the site workshop. Suitable applicants will have workshop supervision experience, with a proven ability to maintain mobile plant equipment while maintaining safety, environmental and quality standards. An ability to prioritise maintenance activities and complete schedules on time is fundamental.

HD Fitters and Servicemen will report to the Workshop Supervisor.
