Leighton Contractors staff participate in World Environment Day

Respect for the community and environment is one of Leighton Contractors core corporate values. We strive to exceed expectations. We care for the environment, are sensitive to the views of local communities, and continue to maintain a reputation as a respected corporate citizen.

World Environment Day is commemorated yearly on the 5th June. It is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.

In support of the day Leighton Contractors this year organised a volunteering opportunity in Perth with Conservation Volunteers Australia, a non-profit organisation with HWE Mining and Broad who are part of the Leighton Holdings group. Volunteering sessions ran all morning on that day for all staff interested in participating and built on a highly successful event run last year by HWE Mining.
