Crosslands Resources owns Jack Hills Iron Ore project located in the mid-west region of Western Australia (380 kilometres north east of Geraldton) and is jointly owned (50/50) by Murchison Metals and Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan’s largest general trading company.

As the second largest exporter of iron ore from Western Australia’s mid-west region, Jack Hill is an open pit operation with high grade iron ore.  Ore is mined, crushed and screed at Jack Hills, then transported to the Port of Geraldton where it is shipped to customers in China and Korea.

They currently employ 300 people, both directly and as contractors and are currently assessing a major expansion of the mine, together with a proposed new port facility and railway infrastructure with the expectation that it will create hundreds of new jobs.  They intend to export from the new rail and port development in 2012.
