CITIC Pacific Mining’s Sino Iron project is progressing smoothly through the commissioning phase with trial production mere weeks away.
“Integrated commissioning of the first production line is planned to begin in October and trial production is expected to start in November,” Executive Chairman Dr.Dongyi Hua said.
“Bringing the first line into production as soon as possible continues to be the top priority for our company and our management team,” he said.
While commissioning of the concentrator and process plant are extremely complex, Deputy Director Processing Wenbiao Li said not only are the team moving ahead with the three stages of commissioning but they are making significant progress.
“Around 60 per cent of first two stages of commissioning had been achieved by the end of July. The third stage, which is the individual equipment energisation and start up testing, is progressing steadily.”
Mr Li said stage three was the pivotal stage of the commissioning process.
“It relies on the energisation of the corresponding E-houses, verification of all installation work in each area and the delegation of equipment vendors and supervisors to oversee input and output test and equipment energisation.”
Commissioning of the concentrator and process plant includes seven areas and 70 subsystems and each subsystem consists of five stages.
Once commissioning is complete, performance testing will get underway, involving reliability validation and production capacity testing. Commissioning of line 2 is scheduled to get underway at the end of this year.
With so many critical processes reaching completion, this is an exciting time to join the team. If you’re interested in working on one of the largest and most sophisticated ore mining projects in Australian history, visit our site www.citicpacificmining.com
