We are often emailed requests for information that is already available from the site. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of the website:
- Register to receive blog alerts for your preferred role types (eg ‘blue collar’, ‘professional’ etc) and in the States you wish to target. This means you will receive email alerts every time a blog matching these category types is posted.
- From any Page on the site, you can access the Search Field in the top right hand corner. For example, if searching for news on a particular company, type in the company’s name. If searching for a job type, type in the position title. If searching for news about a project, type in the project name. This will then list you every blog which references the words you have entered. We were recently asked for a list of companies who had been awarded work on Woodside’s Pluto Project. If you type in ‘Woodside’ or ‘Pluto’, every blog that references that information is listed, providing you with a comprehensive overview of the progress on that project.
- Similarly, read the blogs as they are posted, which provide clues to who has what work packages and who might be hiring now....or soon, in addition to providing tips and advice on job search strategies.
- Importantly, access the Inside Guide from the Home Page and spend time carefully reading each chapter. Most of the questions we receive are actually answered in the Guide.
