Our Stories

Each week, we will bring you stories from our past and present Graduates, so you get a good look into what it’s like to work at AECOM.  We start this week with Ludovic - Graduate Engineer, Perth, Western Australia, who joined us in 2009, Completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering )(Hons).Bachelor of Commerce (HRMandManagement)

My role

At the start of last year , I worked on structural designs as part of the Maritime group performed structural audit work for the Minerals and Industry group,and completed some remedial civil designs for the Water and Infrastructure Services group.

In April last year I moved into the Perth Bridges team,and have since worked mostly on our Bridge Design Services program for Main Roads Western Australia.  This new role includes some site visits to bridges (mostly timber) in the South West and Wheatbelt regions o fWestern Australia, as well as analysis and design of remedial  works and replacement structures.

My projects

Throughout my time at AECOM I’ve  worked on major projects including BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth projects  in Western Australia, and the Australian Premium Iron and the Karara Iron Ore Projects.  I have also become involved in liaising with engineers based in the AECOM Design Centre in Shenzhen,China.

My development

AECOM has an outstanding learning culture where career progression and professional development are encouraged and supported.  We have frequent technical presentations to help keep our team up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

People often come to me asking questions,and I feel comfortable knowing there are colleagues I can consult about challenges I'm  faced with.
