FQM Australia Nickel's recruitment strategy off to a great start!

As this is my first blog on the ResourceChannel.com.au I thought I would give you, a bit of general background information on FQM Limited and their new project, re-commissioning the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation (RNO) in South-West WA

The History

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. is a growing mining and metals company engaged in mineral exploration, development and mining. The Company is best known for producing LME grade "A" copper cathode, copper in concentrate, gold and sulphuric acid.

The Company's current operations include the Kansanshi copper-gold mine , Bwana Mkubwa SX/EW facility and sulphuric acid plants in Zambia, the Frontier copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the 100% owned Guelb Moghrein copper-gold mine in Mauritania.

The Company is currently developing the Kevitsa nickel-copper-PGE project in Finland and modifying the 100% owned Ravensthorpe nickel project in Australia. Its exploration projects include the Kalumbila, Kawako and Fishtie projects located in Zambia.

The Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation

The RNO site consists of an open cut mine and state of the art hydrometallurgical processing plant. Re-commissioning the process facility has begun utilising in house expertise as well as key industry specialists.

RNO will produce a mixed nickel cobalt hydroxide intermediate product. The Company expects the project’s average annual production of nickel metal will be approximately 39,000 tonnes for the first five years after recommencement of operations and an average annual production of 28,000 tonnes of nickel metal over the expected life of mine of 32 years.

RNO has both residential and FIFO opportunities. More detailed information is available on the recruitment website (details below). For those who chose to live in the surrounding area, there’s no shortage of things to do, being close to beautiful national parks and a stunning coastline and beaches.
