Nickel West Leinster is located in the mulga woodlands of the semi-arid East Murchison region of Western Australia and is approximately 645km North East of Perth and 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

It consists of an underground nickel mine and surface nickel concentrator and dryer. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce nickel concentrate.

The Leinster FIFO village and the BHP Billiton township offer a unique lifestyle with more than 1400 people and all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course. As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Leinster is a smoke free operation.

Two carriers are available to transport employees to and from site, Alliance Airlines and Skippers Aviation (commercial flight carrier).

Leinster offers great recreational facilities and Health start program, this is available to FIFO and residential employees;

The Health start program, which is run by BHP Billiton Exercise Physiologists, offers the following facilities free of charge:

Gymnasium and boxing facilities - a full induction of the gymnasium is required
Team sports and events coordinated on a weekly basis
Health and fitness information sessions
Tennis courts
Basketball courts and indoor cricket pitch
Grassed oval
50m swimming pool
Sporting equipment (tennis rackets, cricket bats, volleyball) and reflector vests for runners and walkers are available any time from the gymnasium.
Gym is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
