Engineering and construction company Clough Limited (ASX:CLO) today announced the launch of Clough Seam Gas, a new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) division dedicated to clients operating in the Australian coal seam gas industry.
Clough Seam Gas will harness Clough’s global expertise, financial strength and established and effective project delivery systems to ensure projects are delivered to client specification, on schedule and within budget. The division will adopt a flexible approach to project delivery, enabling the provision of services to full turnkey coal seam gas projects or any part thereof.
“Our entry into the coal seam gas industry is a key strategic step in strengthening our position as an engineering led EPC contractor with a focus on the oil and gas sector”, said Clough’s CEO John Smith.
“We’ve assembled an experienced team for Clough Seam Gas, one that understands the unique requirements of the Australian market, and one which we feel is capable of delivering tailored, high quality services to coal seam gas clients”.
The Clough Seam Gas management team will consist of a group of industry experts with extensive experience in coal seam gas surface infrastructure. General Manager Mel Whyte, ex CEO of Delco Energy Australia, has over 20 years experience in engineering, project management and leadership positions within the resource sector. Key personnel have been delivering coal seam gas projects in Queensland, from concept through to commissioning, since 2003 and have three decades of experience with pipeline systems and gas gathering, dating back to the 1970s.
“I am delighted to join Clough to offer this service to the coal seam gas industry”, said Mr Whyte. “Clough’s strong history in engineering and construction and established and proven project delivery systems will help Clough Seam Gas deliver the best possible outcomes to clients”.
