Citicpacific Mining Project Update – see photos of our progress....

It’s been a while since we last posted a blog for The Resource Channel. As you will be able to see by the photos, things have been happening quite rapidly at the Sino Iron project site at Cape Preston.

Our 450MW power station is nearly ready for commissioning, and two of the world’s biggest grinding mills are on their foundations, with ten more mills being built in China for our state- of-the art processing plant.

The first of four in-pit crushers has arrived and is sitting in its new home in our ever expanding open mine pit.

We now have four mobile in-pit crushers, representing the largest installation in Australia and integrated into the mine design.

The advantages of this include reduced atmospheric contaminants such as dust and carbon emissions, lower overall operating costs because of fewer trucks and reduced fuel usage.

The port area landscape is always changing with massive overseas modules arriving for project construction. The first of many modules for our 51GL desalination plant has also arrived.

So as you can see, it’s definitely all happening and some exciting times to come for our employees.
