Asphar Survey – awarded Pluto Contract
Asphar Survey Pty Ltd is a Western Australian based licensed engineering construction specialist company servicing major marine and engineering construction projects worldwide since 1996.
With a head office in Perth and offices in Karratha (new as of July 2009), Port Hedland, Collie, Dunsborough and Broome, they’ve worked on some of Australia’s largest projects including Woodside’s LNG Train 4, HiSmelt Project at Kwinana, NHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth Project, and CiticPacific Mining’s Sino Iron Ore Cape Preston development.
Most recently, RCR Tomlinson awarded them the contract to supply Conventional survey and 3D Laser Scanning of existing and new modular pipe racks for the Worsley Efficiency and Growth Project, near Collie in Western Australia. The Refinery expansion, announced in May 2008, is a $2.5b construction project to upgrade the capacity of the refinery, expand Worsley’s mining operations near Boddington and upgrade the port facilities at Bunbury. The total works are overseen by Bechtel, and will employ some 4,000 at the peak of the project. They are now also working on BHP Billiton Rapid Growth Project Stage 5, Sino Iron and the Pluto Project and are seeking SENIOR PROJECT SURVEY MANAGERS (ref: 8515/6), ENGINEERING SURVEYORS (ref: 8515/7) and ASSISTANT SURVEYOR (ref: 8515/8) working on a FIFO roster, or to be residential in Karratha. Project work includes site works in civil, structural and mechanical components.
Asphar has recently been reconfirmed as United’s lead Surveying firm for the Pluto project and can provide accommodation and an office base in Karratha.
Applicants should be:
• Holding an appropriate Surveying tertiary qualification
• Have appropriate experience for the relevant position applied to
• Versed in the latest Leica GPS and Robotic technology
• Able to use Civil 3D autocad based software, Leica and Trimble equipment
• Able to fly in, fly out, or live in, on attractive roster.
