In 1897, Lewis Harold Bell (Harry) Lasseter discovered an extensive gold bearing reef of white quartz west of Alice Springs.  Harry died before the reef could be relocated and mined, and the location of Lasseter’s Reef remains a mystery even today with the potential wealth of the find never realised.  Shortly after the original discovery, samples from Lasseter’s Reef were assayed at three ounces to the ton, a formidable find of any age.

116 years later, the potential wealth of an even richer ‘reef’ goes begging.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University, Walsh spent more than 20 years in senior positions in the automotive industry at General Motors and Nissan Australia.
