Launched in 2010, The Resource Channel was the first website dedicated to the total Australian Resource Sector (mining, oil and gas, and resource construction), offering a one go-to point for project and employer specific employment information for those already working in the industry and those looking to enter.
Custom built to reflect industry requirements, the site provides information specific to Australian resource sector employers, operations and projects, as well as professional development advice and current job opportunities – across all job types and levels.
It's also what we don't do that sets us apart. We don't aggregate jobs from other job boards or sell resumes to employers. We know that, as an advertising employer, you don't want a Job Board swamped with advertisements from other internet locations or to have to pay to access resumes - you want candidates directed to your own database. You also don't want to see your advert appearing on other websites over which you have no branding control. As a candidate, you can therefore be assured that every employer featured on the site is a direct customer of The Resource Channel and has bona-fide career opportunities on offer. It also means your resume is never shared with employers unless you are directly applying for an advertised position. We also do not require you to have a log in account to apply for any of the positions advertised. You only need to subscribe to receive alerts and our monthly newsletter. Most importantly, The Resource Channel produces authentic employment information - we break down mainstream news to help you better understand what it means for current and future career opportunities in the Australian Resource Sector. Whilst we are supported by industry associations, we are not affiliated in any way, ensuring complete objectivity across the market.
In November 2010, The Resource Channel was awarded ‘Best National Blog Website’ award at the Australian Web Awards, and in 2011, was awarded 'Best Industry Website' by Reuters International.
In August 2011, The Resource Channel announced its alliance with The International Resource Journal (IRJ); a publication from leading international digital media group, George Media Inc. The alliance means The Resource Channel contributes articles on a regular basis to IRJ, relating to the Australian resource sector. The IRJ is sent electronically to more than 100,000 verified and carefully selected senior executives from medium to large resource companies across the globe, and enables The Resource Channel to reach a global digital audience of more than 380,000 per month.
Developed by those in the industry for the industry, The Resource Channel is endorsed by the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA), the peak national body representing Australia's oil and gas exploration and production industry, and the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA).
